- Dr. Amani Ibrahim is a University of Khartoum graduate, Sudan, Faculty of Medicine (MBBS, 1991), specialized in Paediatrics and Child Health (MD, 2005). Her field of work was in general pediatrics, diabetes, sickle cell anemia. She became Secretary General of the Sudanese Childhood Diabetes Association (2006) and head of Paediatric department in Ibrahim Malik Teaching Hospital (2011) and thereafter, got her master degree in Diabetes (Paediatrics) from the University of Warwick, UK and returned to Sudan to work as a diabetologist in Jabir Abuliz Diabetes Center-Khartoum in 2013.
- Dr. Amani worked in the education of doctors, students, midwives and the community through educational courses and awareness programs in the media, outreach clinics and diabetes camps. She was a trainer in infant nutrition and breast feeding (WHO courses), neonatal resuscitation (NRP), malnutrition (SAM), Pediatric emergencies (EPLS), Pediatric Emergency Triaging (ETAT) and Diabetes in Childhood and adolescence) and was a project coordinator for a 2 year WDF program. She participated in several research and pioneered the first research in Transitional services for diabetes care and Transitional Clinics in Sudan.
She moved to Qatar in early 2015 with the Feto-Maternal Medical Centre up to this date
